Sunday, October 12, 2008 at the Uptown Theater, 3700 Broadway, Kansas City, MO 64111 at 6pm with keynote speaker Dick Gregory, guest speakers, Congressman Emmanuel Cleaver II, Co-pastor of St. James United Methodist Church; Dr. Sam Mann, Senior Pastor of St. Mark Union Church; Alvin Brooks, President of Ad Hoc Group Against Crime, Josh Reed, 38th District Democratic Candidate for the MO State Legislature and host Eric L. Wesson staff writer for the Kansas City Call newspaper. There will be live musical performances by jazz artists Ma x Groove and the Elder Statesman of Kansas City Jazz. Come support Senator Obama and honor Mr. Gregory, a comedic genius, best selling author, diet guru, civil rights activist and St. Louis, MO native who has inspired millions of people of all cultural, religious, political and social backgrounds for over 40 years. Half of all proceeds donated will go to the Obama for America presidential campaign.
